Mary Catherine McGraw, 94 of Saint Paul Park, died Saturday evening, February 7, 2009 at the Regina Health Care Center in Hastings following a short illness.




Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with the Reverend Greg Esty, officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery, St. Paul Park. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80 th Street, Cottage Grove, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church or the families choice. www.kokfuneral.com




Mary Catherine McGraw was born May 31, 1914 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Albert Francis and Aurelia Rose (Trainor) Gannon. She graduated from Holy Angels High School in 1933 and then sold hats & stationary for Dayton’s Department Store. She was united in marriage to Charles Anthony McGraw on September 1, 1941 in Minneapolis. They owned and operated a bakery in Minneapolis and later Owatonna. In the early 1970’s the couple moved to St. Paul Park and she continued to raise her family and became active at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She especially enjoyed her family, was a good swimmer and loved hats.




Mary is survived by her three sons; John McGraw, Michael (Roxie) McGraw, Dr. Charles (Patti) McGraw, five daughters; Mollie (Tom) Detviler, Cathy & Peggy McGraw, Anne (Skip) Erickson, Suzie (Kevin) Nakagaki, 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, sons, Pat & Dan, daughter, Therese, 3 brothers and 3 sisters and her granddaughter, Nettie.
