Mary Johnson

August 19, 1935 — January 2, 2018

Mary Louise Johnson (Rosin) , 82 of St. Paul Park, passed peacefully on Jan. 2, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on August 19, 1935 in Shawano, Wisconsin to Emil & Creda (Dallman) Rosin. She grew up in Bonduel, WI just outside of Green Bay. After graduating high school Mary attended Stout where she met Merlin Johnson. They were united in marriage on February 2, 1957. They were blessed with four children who were all born in La Crosse, WI.  In 1963 they moved to St. Paul Park and raised their family. Mary was a special needs school teacher for many years and spent the last couple decades working at Quilt Cove in Eagan enjoying her love for quilting. She held a special place in her heart for the time they spent as a family at their “little place in the woods” near Turtle Lake, WI. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and 500 with her card clubs. Mary will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Merlin. Survived by children, Marie (Todd) Ehlenz, Lynda (William) Babcock, Susan Johnson, Jeffrey (Rogine) Johnson; grandchildren, Michael (Kelly), Brandon, Lauren, Megan, and Alex; great granddaughters, Andie and Ashtyn; brother, Charles (Sandy) Rosin; brother in law, Roger (Linda) Johnson; many other relatives and friends. Funeral service 10:30 AM, Monday, Jan. 8 at St. Luke Lutheran Church (7000 Hinton Ave. S. Cottage Grove) with a visitation 2-5 PM Sunday at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S.) and one hour prior at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
