Mary Killian

May 6, 1937 — April 12, 2012

Mary G. Killian, age 74, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2012.

Mary is survived by her children, Donna Rookstool, Michael (Kristie) Schulz Jr.; grandchildren, Curtis Cross, Kayla Schulz, and Gabrielle Schulz; Sisters, Josephine (Theodore) Jakelski, and Loretta (Joseph) Kilby. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Sadie DeAngelis; brother, Lawrence DeAngelis, Charles DeAngelis, Joseph DeAngelis Jr., Lawrence DeAngelis II, and Joseph Dominic DeAngelis. Mary was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt.

She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on May 6, 1937 and moved to Minnesota about eight years ago to be with her children and grandchildren. Mary loved to tell stories of growing up. She always had a story to tell and with so much enthusiasm. She also loved to play cards- Solitaire was her favorite card game, unless she was playing with her grandkids, it was Go Fish. Mary was a very devout Catholic. There was not much that came between her and her TV, if she was not watching her mass or saying her rosary she was watching her Soaps. You did not dare bother her during these special times. Mary was very at peace in the end with her health and knew when her time came she was ready. As much as she would miss her loved ones she would be leaving behind she also knew that she would be able to see her loved ones who have passed that she missed dearly too. That being said, Mary, we miss you and we love you. You were strong willed and very giving. You passed with family around you and in your pink room that you loved so much.

Many thanks to Lisa Martin, Deacon Jack, and the people of Hospice. You were all such a big part of her cares these last months and she was so grateful to each of you. Things became overwhelming in the end and you were each so helpful to us. God Bless!

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
