Marvin Birkeland

Marv Birkeland, age 84 of Cottage Grove, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, March 7, 2022.

Marv retired from the Refinery in 1999. He spent his later years travelling, camping, and hiking. He even enjoyed golf and bowling. Above all else, Marv was a family man; he treasured every precious moment with his family.

Marv is survived by his wife, Sandy; children, Paul (Jenny), Pammy (Joel) Rieger, Scott (Pam), Scott Hamer, and Stephanie Hamer; grandchildren, Danielle, Brad, Aaron, Anna, Skye, Adrienne, Savannah, and Sydney; great grandchildren, Isabella, Kwentyn, Calloway, Elray, Emmy, Bodhi, and Jack; and 4 siblings.

He is preceded in death by wife, Mary Suess; son, Patrick; and 3 siblings.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 6pm with visitation starting at 4pm at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th Street South Cottage Grove, MN). Marv will be laid to rest at Newport Cemetery at a later date.
