Marjorie Severeid

Marjorie Ann Severeid was born in Minneapolis, MN on August 31, 1953 to Vinal and Doris Severeid.  She passed away peacefully at Gables Care Center at Norris Square in Cottage Grove, MN under the care of Optage Hospice on September 18, 2021 at age 68.

Marge grew up and lived in Rochester, MN for 64 years. She graduated from Mayo High School in 1971 and attended Rochester Technical School. From there she worked at the Mayo Clinic for 32 years with fulfilling roles as medical secretary, kidney transplant coordinator, and worked with the development team.

On August 1, 1992 Marge married Robert Curry and their greatest passion was traveling. They were always the life of the party and lived their lives to the fullest prior to illness setting in.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Curry; and parents, Vinal and Doris Severeid. She is survived by brother, Michael (Maricusa) Severeid; nieces, Anna and Melissa; sister, Maureen (David) Steffes; nephew, Brian; niece, Julie; and stepsons, David, Marc, and Mike Curry.

She was active with the Corvette Club, Red Hat Sista’s, and a volunteer for Brain’s Together for a Cure. Marge was blessed to have so many loving and caring friends who would help with her needs for numerous appointments and support. A heart felt thank you to all of her incredible angels (friends) on earth. Thank you to the Mayo Clinic staff for their unrelenting skills during Marge’s illness, and The Gables Care Center at Norris Square along with Optage Hospice which were outstanding in the high quality of care she received in her final days.

A memorial service for Marge will be held at Zumbro Lutheran Church, 624 3rd Ave SW, Rochester, MN, 55902 on Friday October 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM with visitation at 1:00 PM and a social gathering following the service. Masks will be required. A virtual service will be streamed for those who are unable to attend.
