Margel Hovde

Margel "Marge" Hovde (nee: Tennis)
93 of Cottage Grove, died peacefully surrounded by family on June 13, 2016.
Marge was born January 27, 1923 to William & Hazel (Todd) Tennis in Easton, Minnesota. She grew up in Mankato and moved to St. Paul in 1942. She met Hubert Hovde Sr. while working at Villaume in St. Paul and they married in 1944 in Forest Lake. In 1960 they built their home in Cottage Grove where they raised their family. Marge had a love for polka music and game shows. She enjoyed spending time on Slim Lake near Stone Lake, WI where she often spent time fishing. In her later years you would see her and Herb driving around Cottage Grove, Grey Cloud Island & St. Paul Park which she enjoyed doing frequently.
Marge is survived by her loving husband of 71 years Herb; sons Herb Jr. "J.R." (Kristy), Todd (Carol); grandchildren Chris (Colleen), Jenelle (Bart) Davis, Brandi (CJ) Van Proosdy, Heather (Nate) Faas; great grandchildren Sam, Will, Emma, Paige, Braydin, Carsten; siblings John (Joan) Tennis, Darlene (Mel) Kautz, Wayne Tennis; sister and brother in law Carol (Don) Brown; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by son Donald; sister Geraldine Meyer, brother Thomas Tennis. Memorial service 11am Saturday, June 18 at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S. Cottage Grove) with visitation starting at 10am. Interment Cottage Grove Cemetery.
