Margaret Rowles

Margaret T. Rowles, age 82 of Woodbury, died peacefully on March 24, 2012 at Woodwinds Hospital surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Friday March 30, 2012 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley Ave., St. Paul Park. Visitation 4-8 pm Thursday March 29, 2012 at the Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park and also one hour prior at the church. Interment church cemetery.

Born to Fredrick and Mabel McCormick on October 15, 1929, Marge was the sixth of seven children. Michael Rowles, her loving husband of 57 years, preceded her in death, as did her parents and siblings, Wayne, Warren, Genevieve, Mary, and grandson, Quentin Norman. Marge cherished her family. They basked in her love, and treasured her kind and playful spirit. She prayed the rosary every day and would "put a bead on it" for loved ones in times of need. She was a devout member of St. Thomas Aquinas. The family is especially grateful for Father Greg Esty's compassion and comfort in guiding her home.

She is survived by sister Laverne Brandberg and brother Dr. Fredrick C. McCormick (Eileen); children, Gretchen Duggan, Dan, Kate, Mary (Matt Kramer), Liz (Phil) Rogers, Tom (Leslie), Anne Johnson; grandchildren, Bridget, Isabel, Amanda, Mike, Katie, Luke, Andrea; great-grandchildren, Desmond and Olivia, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Marge's family is thankful for the care she received from the loving staff at the Woodbury Health Care Center, Woodwinds Health Campus, and Health East Hospice Care in her final hours.

The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers to N. Bud Grossman Center for Memory Research and Care at the University of Minnesota.
