Margaret Mooney

Margaret Mooney, age 87 of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2016 surrounded by family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Monday, March 21, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley Ave., St. Paul Park. Visitation will be 4-8 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2016 (TODAY) at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave, St. Paul Park and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment Cottage Grove Cemetery.

Marge was the oldest of 9 children born to Basil and Barbara DeFlorian in Genoa, Wisconsin. Her 2 sisters and 6 brothers were all very precious to her. Her marriage to Dick Mooney was a never-ending love story and they were together almost 50 years. Marge was a very sweet, loving mother and grandmother who gave unconditional love to her family, and family always came first. For many years she worked full time while raising 7 children. She enjoyed traveling all over the country by car, train, and RV with her husband Dick and family members. After Dick passed away, she was a widow for 20 years, but was able to have the strength to go on living and loving those in her life. She especially enjoyed all family get-togethers and celebrations. Marge was loved by many and will be greatly missed. A very special thank you to Peggy and Jack for always taking such loving care of our mom!

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Richard "Dick"; son Dick; grandsons Scott and Dicky; great-grandson Noah Miller; son-in-law Daryl Imholte. She is survived by children, Peggy (Jack) Krech, Mike (Marcia), Cindy Imholte, Debbie (Clinton) Gergen, Teri (Jim) Hunter, Kathi Engebretson; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
