Loyde Riske

Loyde G. Riske, age 67 of St. Paul Park, passed away Feb. 21, 2015 at home surrounded by his family.

Funeral 11 am, Wed., Feb 25, 2015 at Christ The Lord Lutheran Church, 9998 – 90th St. S, Cottage Grove with visitation starting at 9:30 am until the time of service. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Stillwater.

Loyde Gene Riske was born in New London, Wisconsin to Harvey and Clara (Schneiderwendt) Riske and attended Parochial School in Tigerton, Wisconsin. While attending vocational school he took on position driving a mail truck which lead to his future career as a truck driver. He met Karon Leidenfrost and the two were married on June 15, 1969 in Cottage Grove at Salem Lutheran Church. They started a family and lived in Holton, Wisconsin and St. Paul before moving to St. Paul Park in 1976. Loyde was a welder for American Hoist and Derrick for several years. Loyde loved working on anything with a engine… cars, lawnmowers, chainsaws, etc. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed vacationing in their camper.

He is survived by his wife Karon; three sons, Kyle, Darren (Deb) and Russell; three grandchildren, Brianna, Helen and Zane; "those he considered sons", John (children Adrian and Brian) Barbey, Joe (Melissa and daughter Johanna) Barbey, Jim (Jackie and children Jaden and Josanna) Barbey, Chris (children Nathan and Caitlyn) Barbey, Matt, Aaron and Noah Johnson; siblings, Arlene (Bud) Schultz, David (Bee), Janet (Ed) Simonson, Sally (Earl) Capehart, Marilyn (Richard) Thompson, Mike (Cathy) and Tilly (Hope Stickels) Riske and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by twin infant sons and parents, Harvey and Clara.
