Lori Battcher

Lori Lea Battcher, age 53 of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 23, 2015.

Funeral service 11 am, Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Hope Community Church, 8300 Hyde Ave. S., Cottage Grove. Visitation will be Monday 4-7 pm at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S, Cottage Grove and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment Newport Cemetery.

Lori Lea (Borgen) Battcher was born March 23, 1961 in Williston, North Dakota to Jerome and Wanda (Nielsen) Borgen. She grew up in Minot, North Dakota and graduated from high school there in 1979. She attended Williston State College for a short time and began working with children at a local daycare and nursery school. Lori served as nanny to Victoria Turner for 10 years while living in Minot and later moving to the Twin Cities. She was married to Lloyd Battcher on June 9, 2007 at Hope Community Church. Lori loved to entertain and hosted many tea parties and bonfire gatherings. She was active at Hope Community Church and was currently serving on the Care Ministries Team.

Survived by husband Lloyd; mother Wanda Borgen; sister Bonnie (Paul) Rueb; brother Byron Borgen; nieces and nephews, Steven and Kari Rueb, Brooklyn and Jameson Borgen; close family friends Jane and Victoria Turner. Preceded in death by father Jerome Borgen.
