Lisa Nelson Shedore

Lisa Nelson Shedore, age 46 of Cottage Grove, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2018.

Funeral service will be 12:00 pm, Friday, September 7, 2018 at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Avenue S, Cottage Grove with visitation one hour prior at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Lisa Lorraine Nelson was born September 30, 1971 in Anoka, Minnesota to Daniel and Lorraine (Rangen) Nelson.  She graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1990 and attended Cardinal Stritch University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Over the years she worked as a para-professional in Hastings at McAuliffe Elementary, customer service at the YMCA in Hastings, and Lifetime Fitness in Woodbury.  Currently she was employed by the State of Minnesota in the Department of Higher Education.  Lisa was active at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for several years and participated in numerous volunteer activities. She had an excellent voice and throughout the years she loved singing with several members of her family at various church events.

She loved being outdoors, whether it was at a bonfire or doing landscaping projects at home.  She recently learned to kayak with Dave.  Lisa enjoyed watching movies and was an avid Star Wars fan.  She loved her nieces and nephews dearly and was willing to help her family in any way that she could.  Lisa was extremely generous with her time and always put others first.

She is survived by her husband David; parents Daniel and Lorraine; sister Amy (Jason) Wahlstrom and their children Elsa, Jeb, Natalie and Anwen; sister Corrie (Kyle) Kropelnicki and their children Karson, Cadan and Kyler; aunt Mary (Eddie) Hernandez and their children Hannah, Samuel and Jessie as well as Dave’s nieces and nephews Carrie, Jennie, Amber, Jessie, Tim and Danny.  Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family who loved her dearly.
