Linda Maxey

Linda Maxey, age 73 of White Bear Lake, formerly of Cottage Grove, passed away May 27, 2022 while under hospice care while surrounded by her beloved family.

Her memorial service will be 7:00 pm, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S., Cottage Grove with visitation starting at 4 pm until the time of service.  Private interment will be held at Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Linda Luella Maxey was born December 14, 1948 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Robert and Viola Miller. Even at a young age, Linda had a deep love for animals of all kinds.  Her family owned some farm property on the East Side of St. Paul where she learned to ride horse and competed at various skill events in the area.  She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1966 and took a position with the Department of Military Affairs, where she served in various capacities for 41 years until her retirement.

Linda’s life was devoted to nurturing and loving her children.  She had a dedicated work ethic and was known as someone who was generous with her time.  One of her favorite places to escape and spend time with her family was at the family cabin on Big Sandy Lake in northern Minnesota.  Linda endured though several health issues in her life, but was always willing to help those around her.  She will be deeply missed.

Linda is survived by her son Jeremy (Amy) and daughter Angela (fiancé Robin Beebe) Maxey; two grandchildren Lewie and Lillie; sister Judi (John) Kolb; brother Robert Miller; nephews John Jr. (Jenny), David (Kelly), Edde (Christy) as well as great nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents and nephew James “Jimmy”.
