after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday morning April 6, 2008 at United Hospital in St. Paul.
LeRoy John Dupre was born March 9, 1947 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was raised in South St. Paul and graduated from South St. Paul High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 until 1968. On October 3, 1970 he was united in marriage with Peggy Jean Carter. He is a retired carpet layer who will be remembered as a skilled handyman who always kept busy. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar and cribbage, bowling, dancing and rollerskating.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mabel.
LeRoy is the beloved husband for 38 years of Peggy (nee Carter); loving father of Nicole (Don) Drury, Marisa (Ranier Morneau); grandfather of Alina, Shannon, Blaise, Nadia, & Laila; son of Henry (Eleanor), brother Norman; mother in-law Marlene Peterson; father-in-law Gene Carter; sisters & brothers-in-law Susan, Diane, Chuck (Beth), Jill, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation 4-8 PM Wednesday 10-11 AM Thursday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 7676 80th St. S. Cottage Grove. Memorial Service 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment Ft. Snelling.
