Lenore (Lola) Johnson, age 75 of Cottage Grove on December 7, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by family.
Visitation was Monday, December 11, 2006 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street, Cottage Grove, MN 55016 (651-459-2875). Funeral Service was Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 11:30 AM at All Saints Lutheran Church, 8100 Belden Blvd., Cottage Grove, MN 55016 (651-459-1117). Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to All Saints Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers.
Lenore was born in DeSmet, South Dakota on August 4, 1931, the daughter of Louis and Lola (Munger) Snyder. She was united in marriage to Lester Johnson on August 13, 1952 in Virginia. Lenore continued her education at Sacred Heart in Nurses Training in 1952. The couple made their home in Cottage Grove in 1959 where she worked as a school nurse for South Washington County Schools. She enjoyed quilting and needlework, church choir, bible study, and especially her Fine Arts Club.
Lenore is survived by her loving husband, Lester; children, Leslie Tianen, Cyndi (Mark) Zahn, Nancy (Wendell) Stone, David (Lynne) Johnson; brothers, Dale (Mary) Synder, Jerry (Marilyn) Townsley; 10 grandchildren. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
