LaVerne Mullen

LaVerne Mullen (nee Kratzke), age 84, of Grey Cloud Island passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Preceded in death by parents, and two brothers. Survived by her beloved husband of 57 ½ years, Richard; loving mother to Dawn (Kent) Summerfield, Lee, and Fay; loving grandmother to Douglas (Melissa) Summerfield, Janice (Jeremy) Duncan, and Daniel (Becky) Summerfield, and five great grandchildren; sisters, Joy Johnson, Faith (Charles) Anderson, and Aletha Haugen; brother in law, Robert (Jeanne) Mullen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. LaVerne was a 1946 graduate from Waconia High School. She also graduated from the Minneapolis School of Art in 1950. She will be remembered for her passion of art, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Visitation 4-7 PM, Friday, March 15, 2013 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park with visitation continuing from 9:30-10:30 AM on Saturday at church. Funeral Service 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Rose of Sharon Lutheran Church, 6875 Jamaica Ave. S., Cottage Grove. Interment at Fort Snelling at a later date.
