LaVerne Imholte

LaVerne C. Imholte, age 87 of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully June 23, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Mass will be 11 am Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (920 Holley Ave. St. Paul Park). Visitation will be 4-7 pm Tuesday, June 28, 2016 Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street S, Cottage Grove and one hour prior to mass at church. Inurnment St. Marcus Catholic Cemetery, Clear Lake, MN.

LaVerne was born October 5, 1928 in Becker, Minnesota to Ellis and Helen (Cox) Larson. She adored her family and loved to spend time with each one. LaVerne enjoyed playing cards, occasional trips to the casino, playing bingo and expressing her love through her cooking. LaVerne was a kind and caring person who had a gift of befriending everyone she met.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Clarence; son Daryl; grandson Danny Hemmelgarn; great grandson Noah Miller; sisters Elaine Davis and Bev Karlie and brother Jim Ritter. LaVerne is survived by her children Carol (Raymond) Rumpca, Gary, Roxanne (Garth) Lowell, Donna (Gary) Hemmelgarn, Kevin; daughter-in-law Cindy Imholte; 22 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; sister Connie Kraemer and many special nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

LaVerne's children wish to express their gratitude for the prayers and support that they received from family and friends during this difficult time. A special Thank You to the staff and all of her friends at Southview Senior Living for their loving care and companionship.
