Larry Halverson

Larry A. Halverson 54 of Cottage Grove died peacefully surrounded by family on Jan. 31, 2017. Born the youngest of four on May 24, 1962 to Allen & Inez (Haedtke)in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. In 1966 his family moved to St. Paul Park and Larry graduated from Park High School in 1980. He enlisted in the US Air Force, he spent the next 12 years serving his county while traveling to numerous locations in the US and the world. While on one of his two Korean tours he met his future wife Kum An. Eventually they settled in Cottage Grove and called it home. Larry worked as a truck driver for US Foods, Teamsters Local 120 member. He was a Cub Scout Den Leader for his son, coached his daughters soccer team, loved to spend time fishing and camping, grilling good food for his family and friends. Family was most important to him and he will be deeply missed. Survived by his loving wife of 35 years Kum; children, Allen and Nikki (Tyler Moe); siblings, Gary (Valerie), Lois (Dennis) Galatovich, Ronda Roemer (Bernie Bullert). Preceded in death by parents, Allen & Inez (Haedtke). Funeral service 11 am Monday, Feb. 6 at Kok Funeral Home (1201 Portland Ave, St. Paul Park) with visitation 2-5 Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
