was called home after a courageous 6 mos. battle with cancer while surrounded by family she entered heavens gates on July 20, 2006.
LaRita Margaret was born August 18, 1931 in Superior, Iowa the daughter of Monroe R. & Margaret P. (Simon) Brown. She was raised in Williams, Minnesota and graduated from Williams High School in 1949. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1979. On November 5, 1945 she married Frank Henry Searles in Williams. LaRita was an avid gardener and seamstress. She loved to crochet and sew.
Preceded in death by husband Frank.
Survived by children Grif (Heidi), Katy, Julie, Cleo Dee (Bob), Molly (Troy), 12 grandchildren Kristina, Tony, Jamie, Beck, Shaun, Casey, Kala, Josh, Kyle, Samantha, Corie, and Maggie-Jade; 4 A� great-grandchildren Kim, Rose, Kylie and Logan; 3 brothers Ross (Shelly), Stan (Dottie) and Marty Sr. (Josie), 2 sisters Edith and Nonie (Earl).
Funeral Service 5 PM Sunday at Newport Lutheran Church, 900 15th Street, Newport with visitation starting at 2 PM.
Visitation 6-8 PM Monday at Helgeson Funeral Home in Baudette.
Graveside Service 10 AM Tuesday at Riverside Cemetery in Border.
