LaMar, Frank "Sparkie" Lawson
71 of Cottage Grove, MN passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife on February 15, 2016 after a 2 year battle with colon and stomach cancer. Preceded in death by mother Lillian and step father Frank. Survived by loving wife Lorraine of 51 years; siblings Barbara (Henry) Miller, Patricia (John) Holzem, Mary Jo Vavaro; nieces, nephews and many family & friends. LaMar was a Veteran and served in the US Army from 1967-1969. He was a 20 year employee with the US Postal Service MVS and a member of the American Legion Post 501, Cottage Grove volunteer Fire and Police Departments and the St. Paul Clown Club. He loved boating, cruising to all parts of the world, landscaping and his beautiful pond he took so much pride in. A special thank you to our neighbors Brian & Janet Johnson, the VA nursing staff, and Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home Care.
Memorial service 10am Friday at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S. Cottage Grove) with a visitation starting at 9am. Lunch immediately following the service. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
