Kurt Schneider

Kurt Mathew Schneider, age 39, of Apple Valley, MN, died unexpectedly in his sleep on May 28, 2017. He was born on April 27, 1978 in St. Louis, MO, son of Art and Lynne Schneider. He grew up in Ft. Smith, AR and Inola, OK, graduating from Inola High school in 1996. He spent 9 months living and studying on a Kibbutz in Israel. Following that experience, he attended colleges in New Orleans, LA and Fargo, ND, then completed his degree in GIS at the University of Minnesota in 2010. He managed a band while in college and continued to enjoy music as an adult.

He was passionate about scuba diving and loved visiting his parents while they were living on a sailboat in the Caribbean. He married Alison (Burns) Schneider on June 19, 2010 in Stillwater, WI. He loved golf, video games, and attending music concerts as he grew into adulthood. Kurt was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

The most important aspect of his life was being a loving husband and father to his two young daughters. He adored his girls more than anything and they loved being with their daddy.

He was proceeded in death by grandparents, Arthur C. Schneider Sr., Marguerite (Venker) Schneider, Robert L. Drysdale Jr., and Bettye J. (Boardman) Drysdale; and his uncle, David Gordon. He is survived by his loving wife, Alison (Burns) Schneider; two daughters, Madelyn and Emilia Schneider; parents, Arthur and Lynne (Drysdale) Schneider; brother, Erik (Gemma) Schneider; and nephew, Jordi; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.

Visitation 4-8 PM, Monday, June 5, 2017 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016 and continues at the church, Tuesday at 11 AM. Celebration of Life 12 PM, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016.
