Karen Wigent

Karen Wigent (Turnblom) passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on July 7, 2022, at her home in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

Karen was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from South St. Paul High School in 1970. She spent many years in Prescott, Wisconsin with her husband Bruce and then moved to Cottage Grove, Minnesota in early 2022. Karen was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend and was an avid and enthusiastic supporter of her grandchildren’s activities. Karen and Bruce loved owning Doberman Pinschers over the years, many of whom were therapy dogs providing comfort and support to others.

Karen is survived by sons Kayne (Claudine) Weiler and Brandon Weiler; sister Leanne Greenheck, brother David (LuAnn) Turnblom; grandchildren Carson, Evan, and Erica Weiler.

She is pre-deceased by husband Bruce Wigent; parents David and Lois Turnblom; brother-in-law Greg Greenheck.

A Celebration of Life is planned for July 26, 2022, at Tinucci’s Restaurant in Newport, MN. There will be a gathering and dinner from 5:00-6:15 p.m. with celebration and shared memories from 6:15-7:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Minnesota Humane Society.
