Karen Blau

Karen Ann (Ouradnik) Blau, age 58 of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully Aug. 18, 2016.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at The Church of St. Rita, 8694 – 80th Street S., Cottage Grove. Visitation will be 5-8 pm on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street S., Cottage Grove and also one hour prior at church. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights. Memorials may be directed to The American Red Cross.

Karen was born November 5, 1957 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Paul and Anastasia (Kryzer) Ouradnik. She graduated from Henry Sibley High School in 1976 and went on to graduate from St. Catherine's University in 1980 with a degree in Home Economics. Karen had been a long-time employee of Pepsi in Burnsville for over 35 years. Karen was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 6690 in Mendota and also the Home Economist In Business for many years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and baking. She recently developed a love for travelling while visiting Italy.

Karen is survived by her son Nicholas (Nicole) Blau; siblings Joseph Ouradnik, Mary Lucas, Albert Ouradnik and Richard Ouradnik as well as many nephews, nieces, family and friends. She is preceded in death by parents Paul and Anastasia and husband Edward.
