Joseph "Joe" Marty

Joseph "Joe" Marty, age 75 of Cottage Grove passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 26, 2024. 

Funeral service will be 4:00 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Kok Funeral Home 7676 80th Street S.; Cottage Grove, MN with public visitation from 3:00-4:00 pm prior to the service and luncheon for all to enjoy.  Private interment will take place in Cottage Grove Cemetery.

Joe was born November 12, 1948 to Edgar and Helen (Deneen) Marty in St. Paul, MN. He grew up in Cottage Grove graduating from Park High School. For a short time he worked as a sailor on merchant ships in the Great Lakes. Joe worked in autobody for most of his life, even starting a sole proprietorship with his "Quality Custom Finishes" that he ran locally until retiring in 2009. 

In his spare time Joe enjoyed boating, fishing, motorcycles and socializing with friends. He was known for his artistic ability and creativity but especially for being handy with any problem he could fangle a solution to. His tenacity and love will be deeply missed by his family.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Helen; brother, Al. He is survived by children Josh (April) Marty and Andrea (Nick) Ketola; grandchildren, Nina and Nathan Marty; sister, Karen Marty; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
