Joseph Adams

Joseph A. Adams, age 83, longtime resident of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2015.

Survived by wife of 47 years, Judith (Mishek); children, Julia (C. Benjamin) Farrow, Susan (Lawrence) Brennan, Andrew (Leslie Camille), and Edward (Sara); grandchildren , Abigail, Joseph, Meredith, and Gabriel Farrow, Bridget and Adelaide Brennan, Caroline, David, and Charlotte Adams, Henry, Charles, and William Adams; and sister, Patsy Adams Bolt.

Joseph was born and raised in North Carolina to parents, Chester and Myrtie Adams. He proudly served in the US Navy and was a Korean War veteran. After his military service he attended and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He taught for 50 years in California and Minnesota; retired from the South Washington County Schools. He also served as an adjunct professor at Concordia College St. Paul. Joe loved gardening, listening to jazz music, and playing bridge.

Visitation 4-8 PM, Friday, August 14, 2015 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN 55016 and continues at 10 AM, Saturday at the church. Memorial Service 11 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Rd, Woodbury, MN 55125. Interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery, St. Paul, MN.
