April 6th 1943 – July 13th 2011
The River Rat or Big John, as most people know him by has left us for an extended fishing trip with our Lord and Father. Although he has not been able to get out into the boat in the past few years, I know that he will more than make up for this lost time in his eternal life. I just hope the Lord can sit in the boat for an extended period of time like he would make us kids do when we were young…..LOL Dad!!
John was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Alice Wright of Hastings. Survived by his wife of 48 years Judith, his children John (Pamela) of Woodbury, Heidi of Cottage Grove and Scott Bertram (Boyfriend). John had three grandchildren that he was very proud of, Nicole, Tara, & Jenna. He was also survived by his only brother Gerald (Jolene), their (5) children, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Those who knew our Dad during his time here on earth, knew that he was a very caring, loving, and big hearted individual that often would carry everyone else's pain on his shoulders. He was always taking care of everyone else. Dad, rest in peace knowing that you have taught us well and that we will make you proud by carrying on your legacy. Until we meet again Dad…..save a couple of Walleye's for us.
