John Randall, age 70, of Hastings died Saturday morning March 22, 2014.
John Joseph Randall was born January 18, 1944 in La Crosse, Wisconsin the son of Nathan & Ann (Reiter) Randall. He was raised in LaCrescent, Minnesota and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1962. In 1966 he was united in marriage with Diane Hafner at St. Peters Church. John served in the United States Navy on the USS Midway and USS Coral Sea. He worked for North Star Steel for 39 years. John enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, gardening, canning, taking care of his apple trees and going to the casino. He was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed Gopher basketball and hockey and The Minnesota Vikings. He will be remembered for being handy and his willingness to help others.
John is the beloved husband of Diane; loving father of DeAnne (Kurt) Krueger, Joseph (Gretchen); grandpa of Nicholas, Olivia; brother of Ione Ross, Mary Fennell, Dorothy De Florian, Betty Rask, Tom, Patrick, and Jeff.
He was preceded in death by parents Nathan & Ann (Reiter); sisters Marcella "Babe" Michalke, Shirley Patterson, and Barbara Sapp.
Gathering 10-11 AM with Memorial Mass 11 AM Friday (3/28) at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 8694 80th St. S. Cottage Grove. Memorials to St. Rita's Building Fund or St. Peter's School in Hokah.
