Age 65, Nelson, WI; formerly of the Twin Cities

John grew up in Cottage Grove, raised his family for 28 years on the East Side of St. Paul, and retired to Nelson, WI. John was called home to his Savior on May 20th, surrounded by family members and beloved dog. He fought a courageous 4 ½ year battle with cancer.

Park graduate Class of 1974. John was employed by Garelick Mfg. St. Paul Park, MN for 44 years retiring in 2020. He was active in his church on the East Side. He loved dogs and was involved in dog shows in the early 1980’s. He enjoyed watching movies, spending weekends going on drives with his wife, he loved to tell stories, but most of all loved making memories with his family.

Survived by wife of 46 years Peggy; loving father of Robyn (Kevin) Schlichter, Jackelyn (boyfriend Joe Lally), Jerod (Ashley) Pike. Grandchildren: Kathryn, Carter, and expecting baby Pike. Bonus grandchildren: Monica and Jaxson Lally. Siblings: Joyce (Tom) Costa, Jim (Dianne), Janice (Russ) Boyer, Jean Wood, many friends and extended relatives. Preceded in death by infant son, parents Walter & Lucille Pike, brother William Pike Sr., nieces Anna and Tami Pike.

Visitation 4-7 PM, Friday, June 24, 2022 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN 55016. Celebration of Life 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at First Calvary Baptist Church, 5495 S. Robert Trail, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077. Interment to follow at Newport Cemetery, Newport, MN.
