John Itschert

John Itschert, age 74 of St. Paul Park, passed away October 9, 2017.
Funeral service 3:00 pm, Friday, October 13, 2017 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park with visitation starting at 2 pm. Interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm, Assembly Area # 2.
John Joseph Itschert was born February 25, 1943 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John and Mathilda (Miller) Itschert. He was confirmed at the Church of St. Boniface in 1954 and graduated from Edison High School in 1961. John entered active duty in the US Army in 1962 until he was honorably discharged in 1964. John and Gayle Moulton were married in July of 1967 and lived in St. Paul Park where they had three wonderful children together.
He was employed as a welder at Brown Tank and Northstar Concrete for many years. After retirement, John enjoyed camping and going to his lake place where he did a lot of fishing. He also loved his vegetable garden, socializing and playing cribbage. John dedicated much of his life to spending time with his children.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mathilda; son-in-law Daniel. John is survived by his children Darcy Karth, Lori (Kelly Mullan) Itschert, Ted (Angie) Itschert; grandchildren Zarren, Jaden and Kaylie; sister Mary (William) Rein.
