John C. "Jack" Franklin, Loving Husband, Father, Grandpa, age 90 of Cottage Grove, Minnesota passed away November 5, 2007. Survived by loving wife of 8 years, Jeanne; children, Douglas (Linda), Steven (Julie), Christine (Bruce) Gilbertson; step-children, Paul (Keri) Olson, Heidi (Max) Olson-Grinnell; 7 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by wife of 51 years, June; parents, William
and Anne; brother, William. John had 90 years of productive living, a life with much bravado now taking the right way home. John found a goal and purpose for every minute he lived and used every one to the fullest.
He was: an active church member, an electrician and dedicated 64 year member and executive of I.B.E.W Local 110; a training director at St. Paul Vo-Tech; a contractor; a dedicated construction professional and a teacher to the end. Memorial Service Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 2:00PM at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 1000 Portland Avenue, St. Paul Park, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Inurnment private. Family requests memorials in lieu of flowers.
