John E. Erspamer Sr. (Papa Ersh), age 74, of Cottage Grove formerly of Eveleth, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 2, 2014.

Survived by wife of 51 years, Priscilla; children, Lisa Robinson (fiancé, Douglas Jackels), Kimberly (Gary Palumbo), and John Jr. (Mary); grandchildren, Nicole, Vincent, Gino, Sydney, and Jack; as well as many other extended family and friends. Preceded in death by son, George, and parents, Edward & Helen.

John was a 30 year employee with Eveleth Taconite Co., longtime volunteer at Armstrong Elementary School in Cottage Grove, and an avid sports fan who loved his Vikings, Twins, Wild, and Gophers. He spent countless years coaching youth sports helping kids to reach their potential as athletes and citizens. Above all John loved spending time with his grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Visitation 5-7 PM, Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park with a memorial mass beginning at 6:30 PM. Private family interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred; donations will be given to John's favorite charities.
