Joel Overholser

Joel Duane Overholser, Beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, age 75 of Cottage Grove, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, January 19, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia; great-grandson, Landen McEvoy; loyal canine companions, Missy and Abbey. Survived by daughters, Lynne (Gregory) Elsenpeter of St. Paul Park, Julie (Gregory) O?Brien of Cottage Grove, Beth (Geoff) Beaver of Hudson, WI; son Mark of Woodbury; brother James (Sonja) Overholser of Askov. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joel is a Korean War Veteran, 1974 graduate with distinction from the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program and Retired Funeral Director after 24 years of dedicated service. A special thanks to Doctors Hartung and Gheorghe and their staff, as well as the physicians and staff of Woodwinds Hospital and Father Greg Esty of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Visitation Tuesday, January 22, 2008 from 4-6 PM, with a service at 6 PM, at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street, Cottage Grove, MN (651-459-2875). Private family Committal Service at Rosehill Cemetery in Hinckley, MN. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
