JoAnn T. Schommer (nee Tretter) age 78, of Cottage Grove died peacefully on July 5, 2014.

Survived by husband of 57 years, Vernald; children, Julianne (Louis) Poganski, James (Karla), Eugene (Beth), Betty (Scott) Freier; grandchildren, Jessica (Chad) Anacker, Rebecca, Mary, and Andrew Schommer, Lauren, Allison, and Brett Freier; great grandchildren, Brady, Riley, Parker, and Callan Anacker; as well as many other extended family and friends.

Preceded in death by parents, and ten brothers and sisters.

Memorial Mass will be 10 am, Thursday, July 10, 2014 at The Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th St. S., Cottage Grove with visitation from 4-8 pm, Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the church, as well as one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Interment to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
