Joan was born January 12, 1939 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin the daughter of Harvey & Anona (Dobratz) Abel. She was raised in Cocord, Wisconsin and graduated from Oconomowoc High School. Om September 1, 1957 she was united in marriage to Richard Dougherty in Concord.
Joan is the beloved wife of Richard; loving mother of Lori (Jim) Joeckel, Jodi (Brent) Evans, Jerry (Shirley), Cathy Behr all of Cottage Grove; grandmother of Jimmy, Jason, Mike, Emily, Kyle, Sean, Jack, Catie, Ben; twin sister of James Abel of Oconomowok.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey & Anona Abel; brother Gordon; and sister Carol.
Private services were held.
