Joan Deshler

Joan F. "The Boss" Deshler, age 80 of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023.

Joan Frances Deshler was born September 23, 1942 to Shirley J. and Wallace F. Greely. She grew up in Robbinsdale, MN and moved to St. Paul Park where she met Frank. They were married on April 6, 1963. They lived in St. Paul and Woodbury before settling in Cottage Grove in 1971. She was employed with 3M for over 40 years in numerous roles before retiring in 2002.

Joan enjoyed reading, working on puzzles, crosswords with Frank, spending time with her family, and going to the cabin. Her focus was always on the family and taking care of those around her including volunteering for different organizations.

Joan is survived by her children, Frank W. (Connie) and Lisa (Chad) Komarec; granddaughters, Grace, Sophia, and Larissa; and siblings, Kevin Carter and Denice Carter-Christianson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank A.; and her parents.

Funeral service will be 11 am Monday, Feb. 13, 2023 at Kok Funeral Home (7676 - 80th Street S., Cottage Grove) with visitation from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
