Jerome Kelly Kane was born February 25, 1935 in Elma, Iowa to George and Gladys (Kelly) Kane. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the US Army and was stationed in Korea for a majority of his time in the service. Jerry worked for the railroad for several years before he started operating the North Star Café in Inver Grove Heights. He continued his work as a chef by working in St. Paul for Montgomery Wards as well as in Prescott at the Steamboat Inn. In 1994, Jerry was diagnosed with Wegener's Granulomatosis which limited his mobility, but didn't keep him from the things he enjoyed. He loved going to the cabin up north, spending time with the grandkids and enjoying their athletic events. Jerry also loved birthday celebrations and recently his "grand-dog" Woody took a special place in his heart.
Jerry is preceded in death by parents George & Gladys and sister Mary. He is survived by his three daughters Kelly (David) Vogelgesang, Robyn (Trevor) Noland and Erin (Bryan) Teats; grandchildren, Luke, Jaden and Michon Vogelgesang, Katie Golder and Nick Noland; brother Ed Kane and sister Annamarie Kane, BVM. A special thank you to Southview Acres and also to Dr. Walid Mikhail for his incredible care throughout the years.
