Jennifer “Jenny” Sue Holst Vannelli
(Molly Hetfield)
12/02/1976 – 05/13/2022
Jenny thrived in life after winning a battle against childhood cancer. She earned a master’s degree and had a successful career in teaching. Jenny married Dan Vannelli and brought six amazing children into the world: Lowell Thomas (11/22/07-11/30/07), whom she is holding again, Marin Jill (13), Leo Thomas (11), Maisa Nicole (9), Myla Rose (7), and Lars Thomas (4). With each pregnancy, she fought to bring them to term safely.
Jenny’s recent battle with cancer began again after Lars was born. Throughout chemo and surgery, she never lost hope and she fought to the end, proving her unyielding spirit! Our collective battle ended early on May 13th, 2022. Lars said, “I’m not missing mom because she is in my heart.” We hold this truth closely.
Being with us for 45 years, Jenny was a loving daughter to Tom and Sue Holst, a doting sister to Nick and Mike, a fierce friend, a Super Mom, and a devoted wife. We are proud and humbled to have her in our family.
Come celebrate Jenny’s life with us at her visitation on Saturday, May 28th from 10am to 2pm or at her funeral on Sunday, May 29th at 12pm at All Saints Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove. We are celebrating Jenny’s life and spirit by wearing festive, glamorous, or high fashion attire, and we ask that all who join us do the same.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking loved ones to support Jenny’s children by contributing to the GoFundMe fundraiser started by her aunt and cousin; ( CLICK HERE for the link).
Inhale Courage. Exhale Fear.
Jenny is preceded in death by her Grandma Darlene, Grandpa Lowell, Grandpa Bob, and son Lowell.
