Jeanette Hagel

Jeanette Jean Hagel, age 92, of Norris Square Care Center, Cottage Grove, MN, formerly of Shawano. August 13, 1927- November 21, 2019. Married on June 28, 1952 to Eugene (Geno) for 56 years.

She was a devoted wife and mother. Jeanette worked for a short time at Evergreen Nursing Home as a cook and catered the board meeting lunches at 21 ^st Century Genetics.

Jeanette loved having grown up on a small dairy farm. She was an avid gardener and it was amazing what she could do in her kitchen!

She lived her Christian faith by example and demonstrated caring and compassion to everyone. Jeanette provided personal care to Geno during his hard fight with Parkinson’s.

During her time living at Norris Square, her bright and cheery personality with her friendly waves and hugs brought smiles to residents and staff alike.

Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Susan Hagel, Shorewood, MN and Paula (Joe) Hagel-Long, St. Paul Park; her special granddaughter, Emily Long and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Geno Hagel; sister, Anita Hagel; brother, Roger Heling.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Norris Square and Optage Hospice for their compassionate care.

Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Norris Square, 6995 80 ^th St S., Cottage Grove, MN 55016.
