Jean Marie Pranke was born to Joseph and Helen (Unten) Pranke on April 3, 1938 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She grew up in St. Paul and St. Paul Park, graduating from Park High School in 1956. She was living with a friend in St. Paul Park and was introduced to the neighbor, Clarence “Pinky” Conrad. It may have been a ride on his Harley Davidson that “sealed the deal”, but they were married on February 15, 1958 at The Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA. They settled in Cottage Grove area and were blessed with one son and three daughters. Jean spent many years raising her children and in her later years worked as the food service manager at KMart in Cottage Grove. She was honored for being a 50+ year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Jean enjoyed cooking, gardening, puzzles, listening to old time country and polka music. She and Pinky enjoyed spending time together whether they were dancing, going to movies or taking trips to Branson or the casino.
Jean is survived by her son Tim (Doreen); daughters Terri (Rick) Obitz, Lori (Ralph) Ortez, Lisa (Rob) Dack; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister Joyce Bolduan and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband Clarence “Pinky”; parents and sister Suzie Storlien.
