Janice Lindala

Janice Charlotte Lindala, age 85 of Cottage Grove, passed away April 11, 2022.

Memorial service will be 11 am, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Newport Lutheran Church, 900 – 15th Street, Newport with visitation one hour prior.  Interment will take place at the Cottage Grove Cemetery.

Janice was born October 2, 1936, in St. Paul Park, Minnesota to Raymond and Grace Hennen.  She grew up in Newport and graduated from Park High School in 1954.  She was married to Kenneth Lindala and through that union raised their five children.  They lived in St. Paul Park and Newport.  During her working years she worked as a house cleaner, nursing assistant and cashier.  She also drove school bus for many years with various bus companies across the metro area.

Janice loved country music, dancing and roller skating.  She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing in the church choir.  Janice was an avid collector and known as a sharp dresser.

She is survived by her children Scott Lindala, Patti Jo Hayes, Vicki (Ed) Score, Joy (Phil) Buettner; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; siblings Marlyn (Edna) Hennen, Mary Lou Carpenter, Don (Jude) Hennen, Gary (Phyllis) Hennen and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her son Mark Lindala; parents Raymond and Grace Hennen; son-in-law Jim Hayes; sister-in-law Jane Hennen; brother-in-law Stephen Carpenter and nephew Richard Hennen.
