Janette Glassing

Janette "Janettie" Glassing, age 55 of Cottage Grove, passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2015 surrounded by those she loved.

A memorial service will be 7 pm with a visitation from 4-7 pm on Wed., Nov. 4, 2015 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street S, Cottage Grove.

Janette was born September 22, 1960 in Olivia, Minnesota to Robert and Beverly (Fullerton) Manuell. At a young age they moved to the East Side of St. Paul where she grew up. In 1989, she met James Glassing and they were married on September 17, 1994 in Inver Grove Heights where they made their first home. They moved to Woodbury for a few years before settling in Cottage Grove in 2001. Janette worked for The Hartford Company in Woodbury as a claims specialist for several years.

Janette enjoyed gardening, reading, watching movies and QVC, and playing cribbage. She loved spending time with her friends, entertaining and bonfires. She had a zest for life and a spunky personality that lit up the room.

Janette is survived by the love of her life, her husband Jim; children, Jamie (Brian) Plan-Haider, Chris (Jen) Plan, Katie May and Joshua James; grandchildren, LaRay, Larry Jr., Jay and Jason; brother, Mike Manuell and sister Joanne Manuell; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. She is preceded by parents, Robert and Beverly Manuell and grandparents.
