Janet Wasylishin

Janet M. Wasylishin, age 71 of Cottage Grove, MN, passed away Nov. 28, 2015 at United Hospital following brief bout with cancer.

VISITATION will be 4-7 pm on Wed., Dec. 2, 2015 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th St. S., Cottage Grove with the FUNERAL at 11 am Thurs., Dec. 3 also at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior. Interment Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings, MN. Janet loved animals, and in her memory, memorials may be directed to the SPCA or any organization that provides help and care for animals

Janet Mae Wasylishin was born June 22, 1944 in Mingo Junction, Ohio to Frank and Genevieve (McFall) Bovina. The family lived in several places as Janet grew up due to her father's position in the military. She graduated from Cherry Hill High School in New Jersey in 1962. Janet was married to Joseph Wasylishin in Gibbsboro, New Jersey. They started a family and Janet as actively involved in the lives of her children and served on the local PTA Organization. They moved to Cottage Grove in 1993 and Janet was employed at Vogel Manufacturing and most recently at Intek Plastics in Hastings.

Janet loved animals, but was especially fond of horses. She loved to go on horse rides and also participated in local horse shows. She was a supporter of the Society for the Prevention and Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Genevieve Bovina and sisters Donna and Louise. Survived by husband Joseph Sr.; children, Joseph Jr. (Mina), Donna Johnson, Michael (Renae); 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother Frank III (Diane) Bovina; sisters-in-law, Virginia and Mary.
