Jane Hennen

Jane M. Hennen, age 78 of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully May 29, 2016.

Memorial mass will be 11:00 am, Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Church of St. Rita, 8694 – 80th Street S., Cottage Grove with visitation one hour prior. Interment at the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Jane Marie Hennen was born December 17, 1937 in Lake City, Minnesota to Donald and Vera (Harlan) Nordine. She grew up on Grey Cloud Island and graduated from Park High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Donald Hennen on May 23, 1959 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Jane attended Globe Business College for a few years before taking on a position as an Administrative Assistant with 3M which she held for 30 years. In 1985, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which she courageously fought. With the care of her loving husband, they were able to enjoy many years together and recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting, sewing, following the MN Twins, sitting in the sun and watching birds. For many years, they enjoyed spending time at their lake home in Hayward, Wisconsin. Jane will always be remembered as a kind and caring person who dearly loved her family.

She is survived by husband Donald; children Kris (Dave) Schoenthaler, Joe (Jane) Hennen, Kathy Swanson, Kim (Scott) Wagner; 11 grandchildren, Kathleen Rushford, Jason Jennings, Abby and Ryan Hennen, Sam, Tom and Molly Swanson, Jessica Frederick, Kaylee Seipel, Jack Wagner, Joe Wagner and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters Judy Johnson and Lois (Dick) Goff. She is preceded by parents Donald and Vera Nordine; son-in-law Bradley Swanson and brother-in-law Bob Johnson.
