James Robert Shinn
Age 81, of Cottage Grove
Passed away peacefully on June 20, 2013 at Woodbury Health Care Center. Jim proudly served in the United States Navy from 1949 to 1953; during the Korean conflict. He also taught in the St. Paul School system for 32 years.
Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jean; son, Dr. Michael (Linda); daughters, Teresa (Lee) Peterson, Kathleen (Daniel) Schwartz, and Patricia Hagerman; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Preceded in death by son-in-law, William Hagerman.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am, Monday, June 24, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley Ave. S., St. Paul Park, Minnesota with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
