James Dotson Poole, a much loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather (PopPop), passed away March 1, 2018 at the age of 80.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Road, Woodbury with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in the Cottage Grove Cemetery.
Jim was born October 1, 1937 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to Elmer and Virginia Beatrice (Fisher) Poole. He entered active duty in the US Army and in 1961 he met Rose Kupec. They were united in marriage in May of 1962 and they lived in Cleveland and Elyria, Ohio. Jim worked many years at the Ford Plant in Brookpark and Avon, Ohio. He enjoyed playing golf and watching his favorite teams, the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers. Jim and Rose moved to Cottage Grove in 2004. Over the past few years, Jim found a special place in his heart for his beloved great-grandchildren and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife Rose; daughter Deborah Poole; granddaughter Jessica (Brian) Flotterud; great-grandchildren Emma, Everett and Ethan; sister Peggy Gibson and brother Jerry Rhodes as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Polly and Charlotte as well as his uncle George who was like a 2nd father to him.
