James Peter Fritz was born in Brainerd, Minnesota the son of Joseph & Elizabeth (Bailey) Fritz. He was raised in Newport and graduated from Cretin High School in 1958. He married Barbara Ann Neher at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in West Saint Paul on August 22, 1964.
Beloved husband of Barbara; loving father of Elizabeth (Todd Hoekstra) Fritz-Hoekstra of Mendota Heights, Barbara of St. Paul, and Victoria (Michael) FritzKapps of Wheatland, Iowa; grandchildren Elliot, Sophia, Emma, and Michael Louis; brother of Veronica Fuller of Forest Lake and Marie Sheryak of St. Paul; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Elizabeth Fritz; godparents Gordon and Margaret Bailey.
Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Monday at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 920 Holley, St. Paul Park. Interment church cemetery. Visitation 3-8 PM Sunday AT CHURCH.
Jim was the 2nd generation owner of Fritz Co. Inc. "Fritzie Fresh Candy" in Newport. He lived his life as an adventurer and treasured his many family, friends and fellow adventurers.
Memorials preferred to the Gordon & Mildred Fritz Endowment Fund which benefits the continued work of the Maryknoll Missions.
