Irma Berger

Irma M. Berger age 82 of Cottage Grove, passed away Dec. 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at White Pine Assisted Living in Mendota Heights.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am, Fri., Dec. 18th at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 920 Holley Ave., St. Paul Park. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm, Thurs., Dec. 17th at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street S., Cottage Grove and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Irma Marie Berger was born in Laketown Township, Wisconsin on February 22, 1933 to Elmont and Mildred (Rumlin) Nelson. She graduated from high school in Luck, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Clarence Berger on May 22, 1954 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in St. Paul and moved to Cottage Grove in 1959. She worked as a receptionist at King Foods in Newport and Dakota County Government Office where she retired.

She enjoyed playing piano, bingo, canning and travelling to Hawaii and spending the winter months in Las Vegas. Irma loved life and was a devoted grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their events throughout the years.

She is preceded in death by husband of 56 years Clarence and son Gary. Irma is the loving mother of Chuck (Fay), Donna (Greg) Fern, Diane (fiancé Clint) Bakken, Scott (Sandy), Debbie (Michael) Adair; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Carol Behr and nieces, nephews and cousins.
