Ira Canfield Mitchell IV, age 79, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2021 while at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Survived by devoted wife of 56 years, Elaine (nee Turner); son, Ira V (Angela); daughter, Jessica (Shawn) Kottke; grandchildren, Ira VI, Mitchell, Owen, Asher, and Nina; sister, Martha (Paul) Romaniello; loving canine companion, Rosie; and other close family and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Ira III and Florence (nee Holmes); niece, Karen Blakely; brother-in-law, Clifford Turner; and niece, Marcia Turner Pratt.

Ira graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He served as President, Vice President, and Treasurer of his church council. He was a proud member of the MSRA, Masonic Lodge, NRA, and a member of the Oakdale Gun Club.

Funeral Service 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM, Monday, July 12, 2021 at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016. Interment at follow at Cottage Grove Cemetery.
