Hubert Hovde

Hubert "Herb" Otto Hovde passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2016 in Hastings, MN reuniting with his wife Marge, who died 2 weeks ago. They were married for 71 years.
Herb was eldest born child to Otto & Esther (Brunn) Hovde on May 21, 1923 in Menomonie, Wisconsin and grew up on a farm in Durand, WI. He met Marge while they were both working for Villaume in St. Paul. They built their home in Cottage Grove in 1960. Herb worked for AMI Automotive in St. Paul. Once retired Herb and Marge enjoyed spending time on drives around the Cottage Grove area. He was known for purchasing a new car every year or couple of years, was very particular about his yard and had a sweet tooth.
He will be missed by his sons Herb Jr. "J.R." (Kristy), Todd (Carol); grandchildren Chris (Colleen), Jenelle (Bart) Davis, Brandi (CJ) Van Proosdy, Heather (Nate) Faas; great grandchildren Sam, Will, Emma, Paige, Braydin, Carsten; sister Carol (Don) Brown; sisters and brothers in law John (Joan) Tennis, Darlene (Mel) Kautz, Wayne Tennis; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by wife Marge; son Donald; sisters Lucille & Lois.
Memorial service 11am Saturday, July 2 at Kok Funeral Home with a visitation starting at 10am. Interment Cottage Grove Cemetery.
