Hollis Lucas

Hollis "Luke" Lucas, age 87 of St. Paul Park, passed away February 17, 2017.

Luke was passionate about fast pitch softball and started playing in the Navy while stationed in Coronado, California where he met and married Evie. He continued playing when they moved back to Minnesota and was inducted into the St. Paul and the Minnesota Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame. He and Evie formed lifelong friendships with the people in their lives. Luke went on to manage the American Legion Post 98 in St. Paul Park where he also coached Legion baseball. Luke loved fishing, woodworking in his brand new garage (thanks Vern & J.B.), vogelizing, gardening and dancing with his beloved Evie. He was one swell guy!

A memorial gathering will be held on Sat., March 4, 2017 from 12-4 pm at the American Legion Post #98, 328 Broadway Ave., St. Paul Park. Interment will be 1:05 pm, Monday, Mar. 6, 2017, Assembly Area #1 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
