Henry Wertheimer Jr., 85, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Central Montana Medical Center in Lewistown, Mont. of natural causes surrounded by his loving family.
Henry was born December 26, 1925 in St. Paul, Minn. to Henry and Rose (Shannon) Wertheimer Sr. He graduated from the St. Thomas Military Academy.
Henry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Audrey Hayden on May 17, 1947 in St. Paul, Minn. Together they shared 64 wonderful years creating so many great memories.
He was a well known cattleman. He operated the Wertheimer Cattle Company and Riverside Stock Farm; King Pig Company; Wertheimer Ranch and Wertheimer Farms.
He was a Past President of Cattle Feeders Anonymous; Mascot of the South St. Paul Hook-em-cow Horse Patrol; Montana Stock Growers; American Quarter Horse
Association (AQHA); and a supporter of local 4-H. Henry was a lifelong member and supporter of the Catholic Church including local parishes in Central Montana and in Minnesota.
Henry was proud of his Angus herd and had a tremendous love of horses, especially
his Two Eyed Jack quarter horses. He could always be found at auctions of all kinds.
He loved and supported his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey of Utica; 3 daughters, Audrey Schultz of Granby, Colo., Sue (Bill) Berndt of St. Paul, Minn., Bea (Jeff) Raths of Roundup, Mont.; 2 sons, Henry III "Bob" (Jane) Wertheimer and Paul (Janet) Wertheimer, all at the family ranch at Utica, Mont. In addition, he is survived by a brother, Sam Wertheimer of St. Paul, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother David and his wife June Wertheimer.
Viewing will be at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lewistown, Mont. on Monday, June 20 beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 am.
In St. Paul Park, Minn., Funeral Liturgy will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Monday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
